Incident Involving Jillian Shriner and Police Shooting
Jillian Shriner, wife of Weezer's bassist Scott Shriner, was shot by police in Los Angeles and faces charges of attempted murder. According to Billboard, the incident stemmed from a police shooting that followed an unrelated car chase.
A preliminary statement from the Los Angeles Police Department revealed that on the afternoon of April 8, officers responded to a call regarding a hit-and-run, prompting them to pursue one of the fleeing suspects. During the pursuit, they encountered a woman holding a firearm in a neighbor's backyard. Despite repeated commands to drop the weapon, the woman did not comply, leading to an officer-involved shooting (OIS). The woman, later identified as Shriner, was struck by gunfire and subsequently taken to the hospital for non-life-threatening injuries. No police officers or nearby residents were harmed in the incident, which is currently under investigation.
